Written in the 1970s by Terence Conran (please Google his obituary, what a life), The House Book was a guide for England's growing middle class to create a more sophisticated and elevated home, but doing so in a very affordable, accessible way.  His main advice: develop your style based on how you feel and your gut intuition, not by what you see other people doing.

Conran's DGAF spirit is refreshing because he encourages breaking rules and being inventive/unorthodox in using space.  It's a practical, accessible, no-nonsense guide and a super dreamy, inspirational coffee table book to match. The photography of the interiors and incredible variety of styles are impressive.

Everyone can learn a thing or two from this book, no matter if you're a renter, new home owner or more experienced.

Details: Hardcover. This is a vintage item in good condition with minor signs of wear, small tear on the paper cover on the lower spine.
