UHU All Purpose Adhesive is crystal clear, clean and easy to use on virtually every type of material: wood, cardboard, paper, fabric and textiles, pottery, glass, china, marble, metal, felt, cork, straw. A great everyday glue - *not* a super glue - that still holds strong.
In 1905, pharmacist August Fischer acquired a small chemicals plant (founded 1884) in Bühl, Germany. At the time he did not yet know that he would soon make a discovery that would result in his company becoming one of the most famous adhesive manufacturers in the world.
In 1932 Fischer developed the world's first ready-to-use, transparent artificial resin adhesive. As was common in the paper, office supplies and stationery industry, he chose the name of the bird "Uhu" for his new product -- which is what Europeans call an Eagle-Owl.
